TeacherFly Privacy Policy

TeacherFly respects your privacy and aims to process personal information transparently, securely, and only where reasonably necessary to provide and improve the Service.

This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, stored, disclosed, and deleted when you use teacherfly.app and the TeacherFly web application.

TeacherFly is operated by Göran Robson, an individual based in the Philippines (“TeacherFly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through TeacherFly's website, account system, content-generation features, Library, downloadable assets, authentication services, support communications, and related Beta services.

It does not govern the independent privacy practices of third-party websites or services that you choose to use outside TeacherFly.

2. Age Requirement

TeacherFly accounts are intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

TeacherFly may generate educational content designed for children or younger learners, but this does not mean children are intended to create TeacherFly accounts or provide their personal information directly to TeacherFly.

If we learn that a person under 18 has created an account contrary to this requirement, we may take appropriate steps to close the account and remove associated information.

3. Personal Information We Process

Account and identity information

When you register or sign in, TeacherFly may process information such as your email address, internal user identifier, authentication provider information, account status, authentication events, and information necessary to maintain a secure login session.

If you use Google sign-in, Google and TeacherFly process information necessary to authenticate your account.

Profile and service information

TeacherFly may process information associated with your account such as your plan or Beta status, language preferences, generation limits, usage totals, and account creation information.

Content you submit

TeacherFly processes information you enter when creating content, which may include topics, teaching subjects, learner age ranges, educational levels, languages, platform selections, content formats, tone or generation settings, prompts, instructions, and other information you voluntarily provide.

Do not enter personal information about identifiable students or children.

Generated content

TeacherFly processes and may store generated materials such as scripts, captions, titles, descriptions, hashtags, subtitles, worksheets, and other generated assets.

If you save a generated pack to your TeacherFly Library, that content remains associated with your account until you delete it, delete your account, or it is otherwise removed under this policy.

Library and stored files

TeacherFly may store content packs and generated files associated with your account. TeacherFly currently uses private storage controls intended to prevent users from accessing another user's Library files.

Usage and creation activity

TeacherFly may record information needed to operate generation limits and provide account features, including information such as the content platform selected, content format, hook style, CTA style, video duration, slide count, generation date, and usage totals.

Operational telemetry

TeacherFly records limited technical information about generation activity for reliability, security, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and cost control.

This may include an internal user identifier, hashed request identifiers, engine version, request type, batch information, success or failure outcome, processing stage, error category, duration, response size, generation quota state, number of AI model calls, token usage, estimated model cost, and related technical metrics.

TeacherFly's telemetry system is designed not to store generation prompts or lesson text within the telemetry record itself.

Support communications

If you contact us, we may process your email address, correspondence, attachments you voluntarily provide, and information required to investigate or respond to your request.

Technical and device information

TeacherFly and its infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, security events, network information, and server logs where necessary for authentication, security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and operation of the Service.

4. Browser Storage and Cookies

TeacherFly may use browser storage, such as local storage or similar technologies, to maintain authentication sessions, application state, preferences, teleprompter settings, and other functionality.

Third-party authentication services such as Google may also use cookies or similar technologies as part of their sign-in and security processes.

TeacherFly does not currently describe these technologies as advertising cookies and does not use this Privacy Policy to authorize unrelated behavioral advertising.

If TeacherFly later introduces analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking technologies, this Privacy Policy and any required consent mechanism will be updated.

5. Why We Process Personal Information

TeacherFly processes personal information where reasonably necessary to:

• create and authenticate accounts;
• provide TeacherFly's content-generation features;
• send user instructions to AI systems and return generated results;
• save and retrieve your Library content;
• provide downloads and generated assets;
• operate Beta generation limits and quotas;
• prevent duplicate generation requests;
• maintain service reliability and detect errors;
• protect accounts and infrastructure;
• prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or quota circumvention;
• understand technical service performance;
• calculate and control AI-service operating costs;
• respond to support and privacy requests;
• comply with legal obligations;
• enforce TeacherFly's Terms of Service; and
• improve TeacherFly's functionality and reliability.

Where applicable privacy law requires a specific legal basis, TeacherFly may rely on performance of the agreement with you, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent where consent is legally required.

6. Artificial Intelligence Processing

TeacherFly uses artificial-intelligence services, including the Google Gemini API, to generate content. Information included in a generation request may therefore be transmitted to Google for processing.

This can include the topic, educational context, settings, instructions, and other information you submit for generation.

TeacherFly does not intentionally require such information for normal content generation. Google's handling of Gemini API data is also governed by Google's applicable terms and privacy/data-processing practices.

7. No Student Record System

TeacherFly is not designed to collect or manage educational records for identifiable individual students. When generating material for learners, users should describe audiences generically.

For example, “B1 adult English learners” or “children aged 8–10 learning basic vocabulary” is appropriate. Entering a specific child's name, contact information, school record, medical condition, identification number, or other identifying private information is prohibited.

8. Service Providers

TeacherFly uses third-party service providers that process information as necessary to provide technical services.

Supabase

TeacherFly currently uses Supabase for services including authentication, database infrastructure, file storage, and Edge Functions. TeacherFly's current primary Supabase project is hosted in South Korea. Supabase may process information on TeacherFly's behalf as part of providing these infrastructure services.

Google

TeacherFly uses Google services including Google Identity Services for Google sign-in and Google Gemini for artificial-intelligence generation. Information necessary for authentication may be exchanged with Google when you choose Google sign-in. Content submitted for AI generation may be transmitted to the Gemini API.

Email provider

TeacherFly uses email infrastructure associated with the teacherfly.app domain to receive support and privacy communications. If you contact support@teacherfly.app, your email and the information you include will be processed for the purpose of responding to and maintaining the communication.

Other infrastructure providers

TeacherFly may use providers for website hosting, domain infrastructure, security, transactional email, monitoring, and similar operational purposes. We intend to provide these providers only with information reasonably necessary for their function.

9. We Do Not Sell Personal Information

TeacherFly does not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertisers. TeacherFly does not claim ownership of your private Library content for advertising purposes.

If TeacherFly's advertising or data-use practices materially change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such practices are introduced where required by applicable law.

10. Marketing Communications

TeacherFly may offer an optional mailing list for Beta, launch, product, or educational updates. Marketing communications will be sent subject to applicable consent and communications laws.

Where an email contains an unsubscribe mechanism, you may use it to stop future marketing messages. Account-security, password-reset, service, privacy, or other transactional communications may still be sent where necessary even if you unsubscribe from marketing.

11. International Processing and Transfers

TeacherFly is operated from the Philippines but provides an international online service. Personal information may therefore be processed in countries other than your own, including the Philippines, South Korea, and jurisdictions where TeacherFly's service providers operate.

Privacy laws may differ between countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, TeacherFly will take reasonable steps to use appropriate contractual, technical, or other legally recognized safeguards.

12. Retention

Account and profile information

Account information is generally retained while your account remains active. It is removed when your account is permanently deleted, subject to limited retention required by law, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or unavoidable provider backup cycles.

Library content

Content saved in your TeacherFly Library is generally retained until you delete the content or delete your account.

Generation telemetry

TeacherFly's current operational generation telemetry uses a 90-day retention period. This technical telemetry is used for reliability, error analysis, generation performance, usage measurement, and cost monitoring.

Temporary request-replay records

TeacherFly uses short-lived technical records to prevent duplicate generation requests and safely replay completed responses where appropriate. These records expire automatically. Current database controls cap this technical replay retention at no more than 7 days, with normal operation potentially using a shorter period.

Usage and creation activity

Account-specific usage, quota, and creation-activity records may be retained while your account remains active where they are needed to provide usage information and operate the Service. They are included in TeacherFly's account-deletion process.

Support communications

Support correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address the inquiry, document actions taken, resolve disputes, maintain security records, or comply with legal requirements.

Backups

Information deleted from active systems may remain temporarily in provider backups where backup systems are used. Such information is not intended to be restored for ordinary use and will expire according to the applicable backup cycle.

13. Account Deletion

TeacherFly provides an account-deletion function through the application. For security, account deletion requires explicit confirmation.

The current account-deletion architecture is designed to remove user-specific information including TeacherFly Library records; stored TeacherFly files; profile information; legacy user script records where applicable; subscription records where applicable; creation-activity records; generation quota reservations; user-specific generation request/replay records; generation telemetry associated with the account; and the Supabase authentication account.

After successful account deletion, access to the account cannot be restored through the normal TeacherFly account system. You should download content you wish to keep before deleting your account.

Some limited data may be retained where legally required or where temporary retention exists in infrastructure backups or security systems.

14. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information.

Under Philippine data-protection law, relevant rights may include the right to be informed, access personal data, request correction, object to certain processing, request erasure or blocking where appropriate, data portability where applicable, seek damages in qualifying circumstances, and lodge a complaint with the Philippine National Privacy Commission.

Users in other jurisdictions may have additional rights. For example, where the EU General Data Protection Regulation or similar law applies, rights may include access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, data portability, withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent, and the right to complain to an applicable supervisory authority.

These rights are subject to conditions and exceptions under applicable law. To make a privacy request, contact support@teacherfly.app. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

15. Objection and Consent

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time, although withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.

Where applicable law provides a right to object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing, you may exercise that right by contacting us.

16. Automated Processing

TeacherFly uses automated systems and artificial intelligence to generate educational and promotional content in response to user instructions.

TeacherFly does not intend to use its generation system to make decisions about users that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects, such as employment, credit, insurance, housing, or governmental eligibility decisions. TeacherFly's generated educational content should be reviewed by the user before use.

17. Security

TeacherFly uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. These currently include authenticated account access, user-specific database access controls, private file storage, server-side privileged operations, restricted account-deletion privileges, protected API credentials, request validation, and other application security measures.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and should contact support@teacherfly.app if you suspect unauthorized account access.

18. Data Breaches and Security Incidents

If TeacherFly becomes aware of a personal-data breach or security incident, we will investigate and take reasonable steps to contain and remediate the issue. Where applicable law requires notification to affected individuals, regulators, or other authorities, TeacherFly will provide such notification as legally required.

19. Children's Privacy

TeacherFly accounts are restricted to users aged 18 or older. The fact that TeacherFly can create teaching content aimed at children does not mean TeacherFly seeks personal information from children.

Users must not use TeacherFly as a mechanism for collecting, storing, profiling, or processing identifiable information about individual children.

If you believe personal information about a child has been improperly submitted to TeacherFly, contact support@teacherfly.app.

20. Third-Party Links and Platforms

Generated TeacherFly content may be intended for publication on third-party services. Once you independently publish or submit content to another service, that service's privacy practices apply to its processing.

TeacherFly is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party platforms.

21. Changes to This Privacy Policy

TeacherFly is under active development. We may update this Privacy Policy when our technology, service providers, features, legal obligations, or information-processing practices change.

The current version will display its effective date. Where a material change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, TeacherFly will provide that notice or obtain consent as required.

22. Philippine Privacy Law

As an operator based in the Philippines, TeacherFly processes personal information subject to applicable Philippine law, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules where applicable.

TeacherFly's international availability may also cause privacy laws in other jurisdictions to apply. Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to reduce or waive privacy rights that cannot legally be waived.

If you have a concern about TeacherFly's processing of your personal information, we encourage you to contact us first at support@teacherfly.app.

Where applicable, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Philippine National Privacy Commission or another data-protection authority with jurisdiction over your personal information.
